International keyword research

You don't translate keywords; you research them in each country. Our keyword research shows what your customers actually type, in French, German, Dutch or English.

  • 6,488German keywords analysed for ENGMAR
  • 4,600+keywords across DACH, France and English markets for Micrel
  • 3,296queries studied for Walbeez
  • 1,975Dutch keywords in 13 categories for Protilab

The context

Why research each country?

Translating keywords is the most common mistake in international SEO. A French buyer doesn't search with the translation of your words; they have their own, with their own volumes and regional variants. A Belgian and a French user don't always use the same terms, and neither do an Austrian and a German.

Our research starts from scratch, in the language of the country, carried out by a native speaker. It then becomes the blueprint for your site: which pages, which keywords, which content, in which order.

You need it if…

  • You're opening a new country and don't know which terms matter.
  • Your translated pages don't rank for any query.
  • You're torn between several terms to name your offer.
  • You want a content plan based on data rather than hunches.

FAQ

Your questions

What is keyword research?
The analysis of every query your customers type into Google around your business, with volumes, intent and seasonality. It's the foundation for your site structure and content.
Why not simply translate my existing keywords?
Because each country has its own vocabulary. Translated keywords often target terms nobody searches for and miss the real queries.
How many keywords does a study include?
From a few hundred to several thousand: 1,975 for Protilab in the Netherlands, 3,296 for Walbeez in France, 6,488 for ENGMAR in the German-speaking market.
Can you cover several countries with the same language?
Yes. Germany, Austria and Switzerland, or France, Belgium and French-speaking Switzerland, get separate tabs when searches differ.
