Your website in French

I build the French version of your website around what French buyers actually search for: native French copy, translated URLs, hreflang and the legal notices French law requires. Your site reads as if it had been written in France.

Translated or French?

Flip the switch: the same product page, first translated word for word, then localised for France. Every change is a detail French buyers notice.

  1. “Obtenir une citation” is a literal translation of “Get a quote”: French buyers ask for a “devis”.
  2. French number format: a space for thousands, a comma for decimals, the euro sign after the price, and “HT” for B2B prices before VAT.
  3. Dates come day first, or spelled out: 10/05 means 10 May in France.
  4. A French phone number or a French-speaking contact reassures buyers.
  5. French websites need legal notices (“mentions légales”); online shops also publish general terms of sale (“CGV”).

Why it matters

A translation is not a French website

  • French keywords, not translated ones

French buyers search in their own words: I research them before writing a single page.

  • Native French copy

French is my native language: tone, formality and cultural references feel right to French readers.

  • French legal requirements

Legal notice, privacy policy and cookie consent follow French rules, which reassures buyers and Google alike.

What I do

  • French keyword research for your products and services
  • Native French copywriting or adaptation of your existing pages
  • French URLs, title and meta tags, headings
  • Hreflang between your language versions
  • Legal notice, privacy policy and cookie banner checked for France

What you receive

  • A French version ready to publish, in your CMS or as files
  • The list of French keywords, page by page
  • Checked hreflang and technical set-up
  • Ranking tracking on Google.fr

How it works

Four steps, one point of contact

  1. Research

I map what French buyers search for in your sector.

  2. Structure

The French pages, URLs and navigation are agreed with you.

  3. Writing

I write or adapt every page in native French.

  4. Launch

Tags, hreflang, legal pages, then ranking tracking.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions – Website in French

Do I need a separate French domain?
Not necessarily. A /fr/ folder on your main domain works well if hreflang and content are right; a .fr domain mainly adds local trust.
Can you work from our existing English pages?
Yes. I adapt them to French search habits instead of translating word for word, and rewrite the tags.
Which CMS do you work with?
WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or custom builds. I can also deliver files for your developer.
Do you handle the French legal notices?
I check that the legal notice, privacy policy and cookie banner meet French expectations; for legal validation, a French lawyer remains the reference.
Is a machine translation of my site enough for France?
It is a starting point at best. French buyers spot literal phrasing immediately, and translated pages rarely match what people actually type into Google.fr.
